Mariangela Zerbini was born in 1980 in Bergamo, Italy. She currently lives and works in Telgate, near Bergamo.
She attended in 1998 Bergamo Artistic Lyceum, then in 2004 she obtained Master's Degree in Plastic Arts, with First Class Honours, at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milano, Italy. In 2009 she attended at the same Academy a post degree Teaching qualifcation in the fIeld of Plastic Arts.
Since the first years of Lyceum she attended and then cooperate at the studio of the sculptor Maurizio Previtali, where she learned the main techniques of modeling clay, sculpting and restoring. She also attended and cooperate with scenography studios for thematic parks, and dioramas for Naturalistic Museums. During that years she had the chance to learn several techniques and media useful for her research,although her first love remains drawing and modeling clay. So, since 1999, she started to attending courses and workshops of pottery and paperclay in Milano, Bergamo and in Faenza with Master Giovanni Cimatti. She still updates her knowledge of the technique with workshops.
Since 1999 she has started to join collective shows, festivals andsculpture symposiums in Italy. In 2009 she has been chosen by the scenographer and director Mario De Carlo, in order to make six scene sculptures for his realization of the Donizetti's Opera "Lucia di Lammermoor", who have opened the operistic season of Reggio Calabria Theater "Francesso Cilea" and then in other cities of east Europe.
In 2013 until now, with other two colleagues, she founded the collective project "IBRAVI". The group divides its work in the production of objects for interiors in collaboration with an architect, and in artistic research with the creation of installations and sculptures. Some works of the team have been recently included by the italian journalist Vera Montanari for a new project of a Showroom sited in Milano center, in order to join her group of selected excellences of designers, artisans and artists from Italy. Mariangela currently works with the other members of the team in their atelier in Telgate.
