刘也个展 Liu Ye Solo Exhibition

Liu Ye, born in the 80’s, is a new and powerful voice of the young generation of Chinese artists. Liu Ye's works, charged of imagination, deal with ecological issues and modern civilization contradictions. As if prophet of the modern times, Liu Ye warns of what could happen if humans don’t learn to respect the laws of nature.
In his paintings we see emblematic architectural constructions, symbols of human civilization invaded by water, destroyed by the natural elements. Water is stronger than stone, and human civilization just a fraction of the universal history. Admirer of Anselm Kiefer, Liu Ye’s paintings are highly expressionistic, using all kinds of media to splash onto the canvas, including ink and coffee. He reflects the new generation of artists, young people belonging to the global village.
Yan Club Arts Center presents these masterpieces to the audience in Beijing with the expectation of guiding the public to a trip in pure souls.
今天，现代文明的后遗症愈来愈凸显，以致它成了我们日常生活中的重要话题之一，出生于80年代的年轻艺术家刘也以此为切入点，以视觉形式向大家展示了他对这个问题的多方面思考。不同的知识结构和成长的时代背景造就了他们这一代人与之前截然不同的对生命与历史的认识，他们在用新的方式与世界沟通。
本此展览为这位年轻艺术家的首此个展，包括从2007年初至2008年7月约一年半左右的大部分绘画创作。作品里岌岌可危的著名建筑和怪诞的梦幻场景让我们感受到艺术家对当下文明冲突的严肃思考和深深的忧虑，体现出艺术家内心的一种强烈的价值观。这份严肃的思考和忧患意识正是自律与和谐的起点。
