记录生命的痕迹
从上个世纪八十年代初的《小路》到八十年代后期的《零》再到这二十多年以来的抽象绘画，王川始终在实现着自己艺术的转变，这种转变不仅仅是关于形式和风格层面的，而且和内在的生命气象密切相关。每一次转变都可以看作是他的生命痕迹的记录。绘画对于王川来讲是极为重要的。画画能够给予他安心与幸福，甚至曾经在生死关头时唤起他的生命。他始终在用自己的艺术探寻着生命的终极意义。通过艺术创作，他告诉我们对于生命的深切体悟，那就是“开始的时候什么都不会来，中间的时候什么都留不住，最后的时候什么都会在。我们用生命能量闯关，闯一关就是一个层次，体悟的事竟然如此不同：生命有何意义并不重要，重要的是我们如何赋予它意义！”
Register the trail of life
From the work in the early 1980s to in the late 1980s,then to the abstract art in the following two decades, Wang Chuan has been realizing the change of his art, the change is not only about the aspects of form and style, but also be related to the inherent life. Every change can be seen as the trail of his life. Painting is very important to Wang Chuan. It can give him ease and happiness, and even once called up his life during the moment when fate hangs in the balance. He seeks the supreme meaning of life via art creation all the time. In the process, he informs us of the deep taste to life: “At the beginning there is nothing; then in between nothing can be retained; but everything is there at the final end. It is not important what meaning life has, but how we endow life with meaning!”
